Different meditation styles produce different effects on brain function, rest depth, and ease of practice.

You don't need to stop thinking. If you try not to think, you end up thinking more. The mantra naturally guides your mind to quieter layers without requiring any effort. Vedic Meditation works with the busy mind rather than trying to force it into submission.

What is the structure of the meditation course?

The course runs over four days, with two-hour sessions each day. Group courses typically run Thursday to Sunday. You're meditating from the very first day, and changes happen straight away. Private courses are also available to fit your schedule.

Where are you based?

Introductory talks are held online via Zoom, so you can join from anywhere. The full meditation courses are taught in-person in Notting Hill, London.

Is this Transcendental Meditation (TM)?

Our teachers were trained in the same Vedic tradition but teach independently. Jillian Lavender and Michael Miller are not affiliated with the TM organisations or any other organisation. The technique has the same roots but is taught in a modern, accessible way.

Do I have to chant or sit in strange yoga positions?

No chanting. You simply sit in a comfortable chair with your eyes closed. There are no special positions, robes, or rituals involved.

Is this religious?

No. Vedic Meditation is a simple mental technique based on ancient Vedic knowledge, but it's completely free of dogma or belief. It's compatible with all religions and no religion.

Once I've learned, what kind of support do I get?

Ongoing support includes free monthly group meditations (online and in-person), weekly email tips and videos, free refresher sessions, access to the Speaking of Meditation podcast, and regular updates about courses and retreats. The support is included for life.
